A beautiful photo that was taken from the pier at Clogherhead.
There is something that absolutely perplexes me about colour. How we have managed to associate connotations, denotations, meanings, symbols and other things with it. Make today’s image black and white for instance and it loses the beauty given to it by the thick blues and faded oranges of the sea and sky respectively.
Colour is a powerful thing and the lack of it is just as powerful. The deep blue of the sea is calming while the faded orange of the sky is excited. In between, is the faded greens and browns of the Irish coastline, where the two meet and coalesce into the smooth rolling hills and mountains of our tiny island. Beautiful.
Anyway, enough of my rambling! Hope you all like the photo!
