In God we trust. Why does this always appear on dollar bills? What has religion got to do with currency? Can religion and state not be separated? Perhaps it serves as a reminder to us that God is everywhere.
Whatever the original meaning of the phrase, it has since been corrupted to mean the same thing that the dollar bill does: Consume, engross and squander. In the eternal words of Gordon Gekko – “The point is ladies and gentlemen that greed, for lack of a better word, is good.”
