An orange rose, destroyed by greenfly. The black spots and tiny holes are where a greenfly decided to have a bite to eat. Nature, of course, is neither cruel nor is it caring; two things that can’t be said about us.
On the subject of human nature; a fly will eat because it is hungry and a flower will grow because that is how it can capture more minerals and sunlight. A human will see both and stamp their lights out because it wanted to (obviously depending on the human).
People say nature is the cruelest mistress. Nature is apathetic at best. Humans, among other select species, are the only animals capable of true cruelty.
Anyway, aside from philosophical ramblings, enjoy the pretty flower!
